Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to charge a Hyundai at home?
The spot price changes every 15 minutes and the night-time network fee is lower than the daytime one. The calculator prices every 15 minutes of charging at the final price of that time and finds the cheapest continuous slot before the charging window ends.
Example: an Ioniq 5 Long Range (2022–2024) uses 7.6 kWh from the battery for a 40 km drive. With a 12% charging loss, charging takes 8.5 kWh from the meter. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes 50 kWh from the meter, or four and a half hours at 11 kW.
The Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9 charge at 11 kW at home. The older Ioniq (2016–2022) and the first Konas charged from a single phase at 6.6–7.2 kW; newer Konas charge at 11 kW.
Battery and consumption data for the models come from EV Database.
What time is it cheapest to charge a Hyundai electric car at home?
It depends on the day, because the spot price changes every 15 minutes. The calculator shows today’s and tomorrow’s cheapest time from the published prices. At night the Võrk 2 and Võrk 4 network packages have a lower network fee.
Why does my older Kona or Ioniq charge more slowly?
The Ioniq (2016–2022) and some first-generation Konas use only one phase and charge at up to 6.6–7.2 kW. A regular 3×16 A wallbox gives them 3.7 kW; full power needs a 32 A supply. In the calculator, choose your year and variant and the right power is used.
Does the price include the network fee?
Yes. The price is the final price: spot price, seller’s margin, network fee, electricity excise, renewable energy fee and VAT. You can choose your own package and contract in “My settings”.
