Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to charge a Mazda at home?
The spot price changes every 15 minutes and the night-time network fee is lower than the daytime one. The calculator prices every 15 minutes of charging at the final price of that time and finds the cheapest continuous slot before the charging window ends.
Example: an MX-30 uses 7 kWh from the battery for a 40 km drive. With a 12% charging loss, charging takes 8 kWh from the meter. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes 20 kWh from the meter, or three hours with a 6.6 kW charger. 6.6 kW, though, needs a 32 A single-phase supply — from a regular 3×16 A wallbox a single-phase MX-30 gets 3.7 kW and the same charge takes five and a half hours.
The MX-30 (2020–2022) charges from a single phase at 6.6 kW. The newer MX-30, the 6e and the CX-6e charge at 11 kW.
Battery and consumption data for the models come from EV Database.
What time is it cheapest to charge a Mazda electric car at home?
It depends on the day, because the spot price changes every 15 minutes. The calculator shows today’s and tomorrow’s cheapest time from the published prices. At night the Võrk 2 and Võrk 4 network packages have a lower network fee.
Does my MX-30 charge at 6.6 kW or 11 kW?
The MX-30 (2020–2022) has a single-phase 6.6 kW charger. The newer MX-30 (2022–2024) charges from three phases at 11 kW. If you are not sure, choose by year — then the calculator does not allow more than the car can take.
Does a 22 kW wallbox make charging faster?
The Mazda 6e, CX-6e and the newer MX-30 charge at up to 11 kW, so a 22 kW wallbox adds no speed. The older MX-30 (2020–2022) charges from a single phase at up to 6.6 kW: it gets 3.7 kW from a 3×16 A wallbox and 6.6 kW from a 22 kW (3×32 A) one.
Does the price include the network fee?
Yes. The price is the final price: spot price, seller’s margin, network fee, electricity excise, renewable energy fee and VAT. You can choose your own package and contract in “My settings”.
