Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to charge a Mitsubishi at home?

The spot price changes every 15 minutes and the night-time network fee is lower than the daytime one. The calculator prices every 15 minutes of charging at the final price of that time and finds the cheapest continuous slot before the charging window ends.

Example: an i-MiEV uses 6.8 kWh from the battery for a 40 km drive. With a 12% charging loss, charging takes 7.7 kWh from the meter. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes 9.7 kWh from the meter, or about two and a half hours at 3.7 kW and over four hours from a regular socket (2.3 kW).

The i-MiEV charges from a single phase at 3.7 kW at home, also from a three-phase wallbox. The Eclipse Cross charges at 11 kW, with an optional 22 kW charger, which also needs a 3×32 A wallbox.

Battery and consumption data for the models come from EV Database.

What time is it cheapest to charge a Mitsubishi electric car at home?

It depends on the day, because the spot price changes every 15 minutes. The calculator shows today’s and tomorrow’s cheapest time from the published prices. At night the Võrk 2 and Võrk 4 network packages have a lower network fee.

Why does my i-MiEV charge at only 3.7 kW even from a three-phase wallbox?

The i-MiEV charger uses a single phase and takes up to 3.7 kW. A three-phase wallbox does not make it faster. Charging an empty battery to full takes almost five hours.

Does a 22 kW charger make charging cheaper?

The amount of energy and its price stay the same, but charging takes half as long. It can then fit into the cheapest part of the night, which can make charging cheaper. In the calculator, choose the 22 kW variant and “Wallbox 3×32 A (22 kW)” to see the difference.

Does the price include the network fee?

Yes. The price is the final price: spot price, seller’s margin, network fee, electricity excise, renewable energy fee and VAT. You can choose your own package and contract in “My settings”.
