Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to charge a Renault at home?
The spot price changes every 15 minutes and the night-time network fee is lower than the daytime one. The calculator prices every 15 minutes of charging at the final price of that time and finds the cheapest continuous slot before the charging window ends.
Example: a Zoe ZE50 uses 6.6 kWh from the battery for a 40 km drive. With a 12% charging loss, charging takes 7.4 kWh from the meter. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes 35 kWh from the meter, or just over three hours at 11 kW.
The Zoe, Megane E-Tech and Scenic E-Tech can charge at up to 22 kW, but from a regular 3×16 A wallbox they get 11 kW. The Renault 4 and Renault 5 charge at 11 kW.
Battery and consumption data for the models come from EV Database.
What time is it cheapest to charge a Renault electric car at home?
It depends on the day, because the spot price changes every 15 minutes. The calculator shows today’s and tomorrow’s cheapest time from the published prices. At night the Võrk 2 and Võrk 4 network packages have a lower network fee.
Does the Zoe charge at 22 kW at home?
The Zoe’s charger can take up to 22 kW, but that needs a 3×32 A wallbox. From a regular 3×16 A wallbox the Zoe gets 11 kW. In the calculator, choose your home connection and the right power is used.
Does the price include the network fee?
Yes. The price is the final price: spot price, seller’s margin, network fee, electricity excise, renewable energy fee and VAT. You can choose your own package and contract in “My settings”.
